Description
Up for auction is this wonderful antique Meissen blue crossed swords mark figurine. The piece features a young woman, in 18th century dress, holding blue and gold flowers in her apron. Her hair is golden blond and she has rosy cheeks, red lips, blue eyes and golden earrings. Her blue and gold has lace accents and her shoes are blue and gold. She measures about 4 7/8 inches tall. She has an early Meissen blue crossed swords mark on the bottom. It looks to be the 1725-1732 curved crosspiece mark, but it is age faded and rather hard to identify exact mark. In any case, the mark and style of the piece suggest and 18th century (1700's) production date. In good shape, especially considering how old it is, with a tiny chip in one flower and some fairly minor wear to the delicate lace (common and acceptable with these particularly early pieces!). A great and quite rare piece in nice shape offered with NO RESERVE!!A great addition to any antique Meissen, German or general figurine collection!!
