Description
Troytown was foaled 1913 in Ireland; sired by Zria out of Diane; Grandsire was Cyllene. Reverse has photographer's stamp of J.Delton, Photographie Hippique, Bois de Boulogne. Reverse notes that Troytown was the winner of the Grand Steeplechase de Paris in 1919. Troytown also won the 1920 Grand National.Photograph came with a number of horse racing items that belonged to Walter S. Vosburgh, an original member of The Jockey Club, turf historian ( author of American Racing, 1866-1921 etc. ), official handicapper for various racing associations, including New York race tracks from 1894-1934 and for whom the Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park are named.
