    Description

    Antique photograph of Sourbier (1917)
    measures 8 3/4 x 6 1/4 inches.
Photo has the stamp of photographer J. (Jean) Delton, Photographie Hippique, Bois de Boulogne on the reverse. There are penciled notations on the reverse: including  winner of 1920 Prix du Jockey Club....
Sourbier was sired by Gorgos out of Sapientia.
Photograph came with a number of horse racing items that belonged to Walter S. Vosburgh, an original member of The Jockey Club, turf historian ( author of American Racing, 1866-1921 etc. ), official handicapper for various racing associations, including New York race tracks from 1894-1934 and for whom the Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park is named.
