    Description

    Peter Pan (1904-1933) was an American Thoroughbred race horse sired by Commando with Domino as his Grandsire. He was the U.S. Champion 3-yr old colt in 1907, a year which included winning the Belmont Stakes. The Peter Pan Stakes was named for him at Belmont Park.He was elected to the United States Racing Hall of Fame and had a long and successful stud record.
    This antique hand colored photographic print was taken from a period publication. It measures 6 1/2  x 5 1/2 inches on paper backing measuring 8 x 6 inches.
    The item
    came with a number of horse racing items that belonged to Walter S. Vosburgh, an original member of The Jockey Club, turf historian ( author of American Racing, 1866-1921 etc. ), official handicapper for various racing associations, including New York race tracks from 1894-1934 and for whom the Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park are named.
