    Description

Early 1900s photo by W.A. Rouch, London measures approx. 9 1/8 x 7 1/8 inches on paper backing sheet measuring 9 7/8 x 8 inches. Bottom border and reverse of photo have penciled notations identifying Diamond Jubilee. The copyright stamp of W.A. Rouch is on the reverse of the photo.
Diamond Jubilee was sired by St. Simon with a Grandsire of Galopin. Perdita was the Dam with Hampton the Damsire. Diamond Jubilee (1897-1923) was the 9th U.K. Triple Crown Champion and was later a leading sire in Argentina.
Photograph came with a number of horse racing items that belonged to Walter S. Vosburgh, an original member of The Jockey Club, turf historian ( author of American Racing, 1866-1921 etc. ), official handicapper for various racing associations, including New York race tracks from 1894-1934 and for whom the Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park are named.
    Thank you.
