Living less than a half hour from Churchill Downs means I've gotten a chance to enjoy the Kentucky Derby as well as many other races at this historic track. These "Derby glasses" as we locals refer to them are bought at the track and filled with the official drink of the Kentucky Derby, a Mint Julep. I encourage you to use the recipe below to fill up whichever glass you purchase.
Be sure to check out my other listings since I also have glasses from other races as well as the Kentucky Derby Festival. Not many offer these glasses that celebrate the month of events leading up to the race that include an air show, fireworks, and the Great Steamboat Race just to name a few.

Ingredients
2 oz. Woodford Reserve®
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
3 Fresh Mint Leaves
Crushed Ice
Preparation
Express the essential oils in the mint and rub them inside the glass.  To the same glass, add simple syrup, bourbon and crushed ice.  Stir. Garnish with more ice and fresh mint.
