MEISSEN Mirror - MEISSEN (like) Mirror - CHERUB - FLOWER MIRROR.
This mirror has been in my family since the very early 1960"s.  My grandmother purchased it for a good amount of money for that time.
The original receipt stated that it was sold as a Meissen .... yeah, we all know how that goes .....is it? is it not?  I do not know but my grandmother and my mother until the day they died believed it to be a true Meissen and so do I, HOWEVER believing does not always make is true.  The top portion of the mirror has been broken off and painted with gold paint and a piece of wood was attached to the back with screws so that she could hang it on the wall. In fear of breaking the piece  I did not want to risk removing the wooden back.
This is a vintage piece and therefore very fragile ... as the picture shows the leg and arm on the cherub/angel has been broken and repaired and some of the delicate flowers are broken and the top portion has been broken off .... however NONE of this damages the beauty of this piece.
Interesting note:  Not sure what this means/represents but the cherub/angel has a green ribbon tied around his right arm ... curious.
The mirror is beveled and matches the contours of the decorative frame.  The entire piece measures 16 high x 12 wide.
This is a beautiful piece, but could use a good delicate cleaning!  It has been packed away for over 30 years.
I will seriously consider all reasonable offers.
It has been professionally packed by my local UPS Store for and then to ship including shipping.  I know that is expensive, just trying to not have him broken during shipping.
