Antique/Vintage Pierced & Hand Painted Meissen Porcelain, Swival Stand
Compote/Fruit Bowl/Centerpiece.
Has some chipped flowers around the outside bowl and some chips where the bowl meets the base from previous use. The bowl will turn 360 degrees (all the way around), so turning it gentle is the key.
Intricate designs, beautiful floral applications, Stunning Gold Gilding around the Bowl edge and the Base make this a truly Beautiful piece.

Bowl 13" longest side by 11 1/2" wide, approx. 4" deep.
Base 6 3/4" long by 5 1/8" wide
Stands approx. 8 1/2" tall at it's highest point to base.
The Inside of Bowl is a very White background and features a pierced frieze, which has the appearance of a lace pattern, the interior of which is highlighted in turquoise.
The top and rim is gilded and set with shell-motifs. The interior is decorated with painted bouquets of flowers on a white ground. The hand painted flowers inside the bowl, match the hand painted flowers on the base, in color and in type of flowers, this lets you know this is the original base and not a "marriage" of two different pieces.
The Exterior of the bowl is White with applied with floral decorations, intricately Hand Molded, Hand painted, Applied brightly colored Flower bouquets and Vines. Right below the applied decorations is a basket weave pattern that continues under the bowl and down onto the base.  It is then set on a flared stand on a Circular base, the underside of which bears the blue crossed sword marks of the Meissen Porcelain Factory. The base is set so the bowl will turn a full 360 degrees in any direction,(which is where the damage come from I am sure)
The common issues on these, since so many flowers and leaves were hand applied, is that some of the hand made and hand painted decorations will chip or crack and come off in small bits. As you use the enlarger, please explore around to see where some of the flowers are chipped.....These are age related and not being well taken care of for the past 100 or so years. This is Still a beautiful piece of Meissen Porcelain that will only increase in value and make a nice investment!!

Items are stored in a Pet free/Smoke free home. I acquire my items/merchandise from many different sources including estates sales, garage sales, thrift stores, and storage auctions. I cannot guarantee they originated from a scent free or smoke free environment. Please consider this when making your purchase.
