    Description

From 1895 The Christmas Horseman, print measures  measures approx. 10 x 12 inches with blank reverse.
Henry of Navarre (1891-1917) was an American Thoroughbred champion race horse elected to the Racing Hall of Fame. He was sired by Knight of Ellerslie and Eolus was his grandsire. In 42 races he had 29 wins, 8 places and 3 shows. He won the Belmont Stakes and was sold the following year to August Belmont Jr. where he won Horse of the Year in 1895 under Hall of Fame trainer John Hyland.
Print came with a number of horse racing items that belonged to Walter S. Vosburgh, an original member of The Jockey Club, turf historian ( author of American Racing, 1866-1921 etc.), official handicapper for various racing associations, including New York race tracks from 1894-1934 and for whom the Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park are named.
    Thank you.
