Markovitz Embroidery - In a quiet neighborhood named Mea Shearim, it seems like time had stopped.
You can see orthodox men hurrying for prayer, smell the lovely scent of the challah - bread from the nearby baker…. Within this authentic atmosphere, through a narrow gate, you will find the magical world of Judaic.
For three generations the Markovitz embroidery store has been the source of Israeli Judaic. Grandfather Meir, the founder of the store was an artist with golden hands, and he created beautiful and traditional custom made Judaic embroidery to people from all over the world. As his daughter joined the family business, she brought color and freshness to the traditional patterns by adding color and less traditional patterns such as flowers and the seven species.  As a 3rd generation to the store, I am synthesizing the look and feel of both worlds: old and new, traditional and modern, into a contemporary creation.
In the store and gallery you can walk through time, and see the changes our country has been through reflecting in our work.
